Cemetery Preservation Program: Mt. Vernon

Arkansas Historic Preservation Program - Wednesday, March 06, 2019

Join Holly Hope, Special Projects Historian for the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, for two days of cemetery preservation, April 19-20. Day one features a lecture from Jonathan Appeall, founder of Atlas Preservation, at City Hall. Day two, Appeall and Hope will lead a hands-on cemetery preservation workshop at Mt. Vernon Cemetery on Cemetery Road.

Friday, April 19
Cemetery preservation lecture by Jonathan Appell of Atlas Preservation on April 19 at 6 p m at the City Hall/Senior Citizen Center, 2 Garland Springs Rd, Mt. Vernon.

Saturday, April 20
Free hands-on workshop will be held at Mt. Vernon Cemetery from 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday, April 20, and lead by Jonathan Appell and Holly Hope. Guests are urged to bring knee pads, gloves, stools, and other items to make their work more comfortable.

Located in
Southington, Connecticut, Atlas is known for their monument preservation and restoration products such as stone epoxy, D/2 cleaner which removes biological items off stone, as well as stain and graffiti removers. Appell has over 25 years of experience preserving, restoring, and repairing gravestones and monuments.
