May 18, 2019 11:00 AM to May 18, 2019 1:00PM

Harrison Courthouse Square Historic Distric - 302 North Main Street, Harrison AR

Additional Event Details

Harrison began as a settlement on the banks of Crooked Creek, and in 1870, railroad surveyor Colonel Marcus LaRue Harrison laid out the town that was subsequently named in his honor. In 1875, Harrison became the Boone County seat. Early residents worked in the fruit-growing and timber industries. Harrison's economy now relies heavily on tourism because of its location near the Buffalo National River and Branson, Mo., a popular tourist destination. The tour group will meet at the 1929 Hotel Seville at 302 N. Main St. Co-sponsored by the Boone County Heritage Museum.
