Sandwiching in History
12 pm - 1 pm
George W. Dickinson House 515 West 15th Street, Little Rock

The “Sandwiching in History” tour series features a historic property in central Arkansas each month. The tours are free and open to the public. All tours begin at noon and last no more than one hour. An AHPP historian delivers a brief lecture about the property before leading guests on a tour. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunches with them.

Walks Through History

McCrory Commercial Historic District: Meet at Raney Park at Second & Jackson streets., McCrory

The “Walks through History” tour series features historic sites or districts around Arkansas each month. The tours are free and open to the public. Tours begin at 11:00 a.m., unless otherwise indicated, and last between one and two hours. An AHPP historian delivers a lecture about the properties while leading guests on a walking tour.

Grave Matters: A Cemetery Mapping Workshop

Oak Grove Cemetery off Highway 138 in Drew County, AR, Just East of Winchester, AR

The UAM Research Station of the Arkansas Archeological Survey and the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program are hosting a one-day workshop on mapping and documenting historic cemeteries. The workshop will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, an African American cemetery located near Winchester, AR. It will provide hands on experience that you can apply to a cemetery in your area.
